Well, we kinda let her 6-month birthday slip past us because it fell on Thanksgiving. So here are her pics -- she is showing off those teeth again and as you can tell, she likes to be sitting straight up. I started her out leaning in the corner of the chair like all the other pics, but she scooted herself up immediately. I took her for her 6-month check-up on Monday and she was 27 inches long (still above 90%) but only weighed 15 pounds, 1.5 ounces (30%) I was a little concerned about her weight at first, but the doc said that she looks like the picture of health and its probably just because she has tall, thin parents. And since she is such a happy baby, I figure she must be ok. Doc said to go ahead and start introducing all the 1st foods now and I've been making my own baby food so that has been fun. I've discovered that she only likes her food pureed very smooth; I tried just mashing up her sweet potatoes really well and adding a bit of water to thin them out and she didn't like them at all. But as soon as I put them in the food processor for a second, she was quite excited about them. Currently her menu simply includes rice cereal, whole grain oatmeal, pears, and sweet potatoes. Next week I think we'll try squash :) She is still an extremely happy baby, but those teeth coming in sure made her miserable for a while and she is definitely showing signs of getting some more soon :( She is quite content to sit on a blanket and play by herself for a good 20 minutes, and longer if I'm sitting beside her. I'm hoping she puts off crawling for while because I know that will make my like so much more busy, but she is definitely trying to get those arms and legs coordinated. Hopefully I'll have at least a month before she figures it out, though :) We'll see. She is very sociable and really doesn't care who holds her, as long as you smile and talk sweet to her :) And she just keeps on jabbering away and I'm hoping to hear a clear Mama before long :) She's just so much fun!
